As your child grows into a young toddler, he or she will transition into our Hedgehog classroom. The toddlers in this room are about 12 to 24 months old.
The Hedgehog classroom provides opportunities for young toddlers to learn social skills, experience creativity, participate in language exploration, and practice fine and gross motor skills. This nurturing environment provides structure that allows the children to grow and learn, while feeling safe and comfortable.
The daily schedule for our young toddlers consists of free choice time, language and literacy activities (books, read alouds, letter recognition), music and movement activities, math and science experiences (introducing colors, shapes, numbers, and animals), gross and fine motor activities, art and sensory experiences, group meal and snack times, and nap time.
Children in the Hedgehog classroom are provided all diapers, wipes, and bibs (washed daily). Parents are responsible for bringing breakfast (depending on arrival time), lunch, and 2-3 snacks for their child each day, as well as diaper cream, changes of clothing, a crib-sized sheet, blanket, and weather appropriate outdoor wear to be stored at school.
